With the whole 3D-printing-a-gun thing going on, it's easy to get suckered into thinking Michael Murphy's new installation, Damages, is a commentary on Americans' firearms fetish.
But yo -- it's not. It's clearly about the dangers of ping pong.
The exhibit -- which just opened in Chattanooga, Tennessee -- is comprised of thousands of ping pong balls that have been painted black (THE COLOR OF EVIL; #SYMBOLISM), then hung from the ceiling on strings of varying lengths.
When viewed head-on, they form what looks like an assault rifle; but with a shift in perspective (COMMENTARY ALERT!), it seems as though they're nothing more than ping pong balls.
