The Business Flight | Wear This To That

wearthistothat flight The Business Flight | Wear This To That

Whether it’s the Sunday night shuttle solo from JFK to Logan, or a long-haul redeye with your boss from Miami to DeGaulle, the business flight is a tricky situation for which to dress.

Dress up too much, and you’ll be uncomfortable on the flight, and maybe wrinkle/soil your meeting duds before you even arrive. Go too casual, and you’re locked into a quick, stressful change in the airport men’s room before dashing to the work site. Not a good look.

For this very professional edition of Wear This To That, we looked for the fine line. You won’t look like a dreary suit, but you also won’t be the guy whose leopard-print haircalf chukkas earn him some “extra attention” from the TSA. And you’ll be comfortable enough to get some work done. That’s a square deal if we’ve ever heard one.

Oh, and we didn’t lay up with obvious picks either, like “wear slip-ons, because it’s easier to get through security”. Have you ever tried sprinting to a gate in loafers? We have. It sucks.

If you’ve got a business trip coming up (or hell, even if you don’t), please make sure that your seat is in an upright position, that your tray table is fully stowed, and that you’ve got our outfit on.

Time to fly.
