Lykan Hypersport Supercar | W Motors

W Motors is, perhaps, a Liam Neeson fan. After all, the United Arab Emirates’ marque named its new supercar the Lykan, which means its owner can bellow “Release the Lykan!” when summoning the Middle East beast.

Boasting 750 horsepower, a 0-60mph time of 2.7 seconds, and a top speed of 245mph, the Arab-built Lykan boosts itself into the conversation with beasts from Italy, Sweden, and Germany. In particular, the internet has pointed out its likeness to Lamborghini‘s Aventador; while we agree, we also think it’s got a Decepticon aesthetic, what with all the angles.

After its debut at the 2013 Qatar Auto Show, we learned the Lykan is set to come in “Hypersport” and “Supersport” models. The Hypersport will hold a twin-turbo flat six that’s responsible for the above performance stats; no word on what the Supersport will be packing just yet.

And now, for the fun part of writing about supercars — the price. It’s a reported $3.4 million dollars to own one of these machines, which seemed a lot more absurd to us before Autoblog reported that W has already taken 100 orders. WHAT GLOBAL RECESSION?

Considering our salaries, though, you’ll more likely hear us pathetically mutter “Release the ZipCar”. Stay tuned for more info on the Lykan as it arrives.
