Portable Rocket Engine Speakers | Soyuz Sound

Inspired by the conical exhausts beneath the engine pods of a rocket ship, the portable Soyuz Speaker is a triangular ghetto-blaster for the astronaut for playing “Lift Off” at full volume. And like, other songs, too.

Designed by Olavo Pena Monken (who hit us up after we published this article to let us know that he did, indeed, have a website), this monstrous concept device has a lightweight aluminum exoskeleton that suspends three sound-generating units: two speakers and a massive subwoofer.

Each speaker features a red cone body, and black dust caps & surrounds. The nylon-wrapped cables keep it functional even in adverse conditions; mirroring that functionality, the lithium battery unit keeps the thing highly portable. With a 3.5mm audio jack and integrated iPhone connectivity, it’s everything you need to start a party.

For now, the Soyuz Sound is just a concept, but we hope Monken finds a distributor, because this piece could really blast off. ‘Til then , keep an eye Monken’s Behance for more details.
