Thome Browne‘s TB-018 looks like a cross between vintage mountaineering goggles, late-’80s prep-schooler wayfarers, and Club Kid rave shades. The frames — only 30 of which were ever produced — saw daylight at the brand’s Fall/Winter 2012 runway show, then bounced around from back office to back office until landing in the hands of Chris Gibbs & co. over at Union Los Angeles.
With translucent acetate frames, old-school ear-clinging wire arms, and toggling side-guards to protect against glare, this piece is truly remarkable. And considering they never made it to production, if you’re a diehard Thom Browne fan (like our Creative Director is), you may want to pony up.
Union Los Angeles has a few pairs of these magnificent shades at its webstore for $900 USD.
