And now, for a grandiose lede: Friday, February 1st, 2013 will live in infamy as the day that two French titans of the global graffiti scene dropped videos about their works. This one, called “Blow Up” (perhaps a nod to the Michelangelo Antonioni film of the same name) focuses on TED-winning Gallic graffiti writer/photographer JR.
The just-dropped short from Mr. A, “Love Henrietta”, fills a narrative void. In “Blow Up”, though, filmmaker Matt Black takes a different tack, executing a longer-form interview for the latest installation in his series Reflections.
The video’s photography is drop-dead gorgeous throughout, but we’re losing it over the synched-up drum fill at 3:27. It’s the new hotness.
Check out the video, then hit Matt Black’s Vimeo channel for more of Reflections.
