Considering it hails from the country home to some of the world’s most important early cave paintings, it only makes sense that French house Louis Vuitton would look to channel that anthropological inspiration when commissioning artists to produce limited-edition printed accessories.
The trio of neck-wrappers includes a scarf, stole, and shawl, and was produced in collaboration with RETNA, Aiko and Os Geméos.
The latter two artists came up with badass designs — the 64-color “Giant Four Seasons”, and the “Mosaic” respectively — but RETNA’s “mysterious watercolor hieroglyphs designed with help from children” takes the cake. It’s rough around the edges (both literally and figuratively) and speaks to France’s primal past.
