At approximately five cubic inches, the WA7 Fireflies amplifier from Woo Audio is the size of a small Tupperware, but it’s far better at preserving the quality of your sound than it is at saving your tuna casserole.
This made-in-New-York mini-mite of a speaker (exact dimensions are 4.8″ L x 4.8″ W x 5.1″) is built for the serious audiophile, what with its semi-conductor-free, pure tube design; a built-in USB 2.0 digital-to-analog converter; and not one, but two jacks to accommodate full-size headphones or in-ear monitors.
If you like music, but like-like design, the Fireflies is still your gal — the matte cube is available in elegant black or silver finishes. The delicate tubes protruding from its top panel are protected by an included clear glass case. And because its designer stunts so damn hard, there’s no angle at which you can see a screw or rivet holding the thing together.
