Last week, Dr. Martens opened a second NYC brick-’n-mortar location in Union Square, so we laced up our boots and hit the store’s launch party.
School of Seven Bells brought the tunes, the Doctor brought the fashionable boots, and Goose Island kept everyone happy all night with plenty of tasty craft beer.
During the party, we headed up to the showroom where we chopped it up with the brand’s international marketing director Simon Jobson. Hear his candid thoughts on Dr. Martens’ heritage, its special relationship to punk & other subcultures, and its plans for the future.
After the interview, Simon revealed some still-under-wraps silhouettes — all we can say is that the brand’s fans are in for a big treat over the course of the next couple of seasons.
