Before he was Half Man, Half Amazing, the legendary Nas was just Nasir Jones, another kid growing up on the block in Queensbridge with dreams of one day taking over New York City.
We hit the Hennessy Wild Rabbit tasting event at R Lounge in Times Square to ask God’s Son a simple question: When he was growing up, what was the one piece of clothing that he had to buy as soon as he could afford it? His answer surprised us. Hint: it’s not jewelry, though he bought a lot of that, too.
He also talked frankly with Hot 97′s Miss Info about his style through the ’90s, particularly in his infamous 1999 music video for “Hate Me Now” with Diddy.
You can get Nas’ latest album Life Is Good at iTunes for $14.99 USD, or learn more about the Wild Rabbit campaign at its website, here.
