Parisien graffiti writer Chaze knows what lies beneath the cobblestones in the City of Lights: zombies. Or at least one zombie, who serves as the protagonist in “Semivivus”, a new short film from Chaze, Livia, and a few of his writer friends. Shot predominantly from the first-person -zombie point of view, the short starts out in the bone-filled catacombs beneath the city, where the monster startles a pair of cave-hopping enthusiasts before sneaking into the metro system and making its way to the streets.
Our favorite thing about this video is its authenticity. Nothing is shot within a studio. Chaze is in real Parisien catacombs; taggers are really tagging walls in Le Marais. And did we mention its the filmmaker’s first time shooting & editing?
