The Chinese New Year is a bane to production managers everywhere, because during it, garment factories all over Asia shut down. Luckily, adidas Originals manufactured its Super 80s homage to the Year of the Snake before the Lunar new year, so they’ll be in stores in January.
Wrapped imitation snakeskin, the sneaker’s red colorway nods to the Chinese good luck superstition surrounding that color (you can also get it in silver if you make your own luck). The collectible jade ornament that dangles from the top eyelet is removable, but the matching jade lacelock is too fly to take off. So don’t.
