You know how it is: you’re adored by a global consumer base, you’re kicking it with A$AP Rocky backstage, and brands like Adidas cling to your every creative idea. Boring.
Having already made them a worldwide trend on sneakers, Jeremy Scott has brought his iconic wings to a new medium: the hybrid automobile. As in, like… a car.
More specifically: Scott has partnered with France’s smart (a subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz USA) to create a limited-edition fortwo model with massive fins sweeping backward off its rear panels, like an old-school Oldsmobile after years of R&D by extraterrestrials.
These wings are actually also the vehicle’s lights, which’re powered (along with the rest of the car) by a 17.6kWh lithium-ion rechargeable battery that can take you up to 90 miles. Despite looking fairly speedy, the forJeremy tops out around 77mph, though considering its designed almost exclusively for city use, that should be plenty.
The vehicle is making its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and will supposedly be sold in limited quantities next year. Check smart’s website for more details.
