This week, Jean Touitou’s baby turns 25. It may have crested the midway point of its 20s, but rest assured, A.P.C. will always be a kid at heart. For the quarter century it’s been alive, the French brand’s hallmark has been its simple, nearly esoteric, design, so it stands to reason that its hoodie commemorating the event is as basic as basic can be.
The 100%-cotton heather gray sweatshirt is emblazoned with a block-lettered “87″, which for those of you who are terrible at basic arithmetic, refers to the year the brand was founded. The numerals come in either black or maroon, but either will feature a quiet embroidery of the brand’s initials near the left hem. Watch out — unlike their remarkably tight selvedge, these hoodies begin with a “rather loose” fit.
